Acting

For a time,
if only a minute,
I am someone else.
Another person,
in a new situation.

To show off my skills,
of putting up this mask
and being one not myself.
A skill I've worked on for years,
not knowing it could benefit me.

Years of feigning my happiness,
they have brought to me my passion,
my talent.
It has become my life,
my existence.

I finally found something I'm good at.
